ELECTRICAL

Alterations

Any alteration done to the electrical system of your home following settlement by anyone other than the original installing contractor listed on your subcontractor list will void your electrical system warranty.

Ground Fault Interrupter (G.F.I.)

For your protection, your home is equipped with a ground fault interrupter, usually located in the outlet of one of the bathrooms or in your electrical box. This ground fault interrupter is a safety break designed to protect you from possible electrical shock. They are extremely sensitive and easy to trip. If moisture gets into your outside outlets or bathroom outlets, it may cause the interrupter to trip, cutting off power to these outlets. You can reset the interrupter by pressing first the test button then the reset button.

Circuit Breakers

Remember to shut off the appropriate circuit breaker in the electrical panel, usually located in your basement, to any appliance you plan to work on.
